Senior Business Analyst – Mine Monitoring and Control

The Senior Business Analyst will play a critical role in evaluating and modelling mining business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and capturing business, functional, and non-functional requirements to support the deployment of Mine Monitoring and Control Operational Technologies (OT). You’ll serve as the bridge between operations and technology, working closely with Solution Architects, Data Architects, and OT teams to ensure solutions are designed for the end user and aligned with business goals. Key Responsibilities include: Evaluate, model, and optimize mining business processes and systems. Lead requirements gathering, documentation, and validation for mine monitoring and control technologies. Translate stakeholder needs into actionable functional and technical requirements. Conduct workshops and structured stakeholder meetings to define project scope and deliverables. Develop user-friendly documentation: How-To guides, SOPs, and knowledge base articles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Architecture, Cybersecurity, OT, and Data). Support configuration, testing, and rollout of technology solutions. Validate solution effectiveness against business objectives. Track project milestones, risks, and dependencies. Evaluate vendor solutions and assist with the Statement of Work (SOW) creation.

Technical & Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of Mine Monitoring and Control technologies (Collision Avoidance Systems, Fleet Management, Payload Monitoring, Asset Management, Machine Guidance (Loading & Drilling)). Knowledge of the mining value chain (pit to port). Familiarity with surface mining operations – drilling, blasting, hauling, and processing. Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) and system integration environments. Required Skills and Experience: Hard Skills: BSc/BEng/BTech (STEM) or equivalent technical qualification with mining experience. 5+ years’ experience in Business Analysis within mining, industrial automation, or OT projects. Proven ability to perform requirements analysis, process mapping (BPMN), and documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with BABOK, SAFe, and Design Thinking principles. Soft Skills: Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication. Critical and conceptual thinking to solve complex operational challenges. Strong planning, organization, and time management skills. Self-starter able to work independently in a hybrid setup. Demonstrated leadership in project delivery and cross-team collaboration.
