Mobile App UX/UI Product Designer – Level 7-8

As a native mobile app product designer at Accenture South Africa, you will lead multidisciplinary initiatives that align user needs, business goals, and technological possibilities, with a primary skill in leading mobile app design work. Your role encompasses product strategy, scalable design practices, and AI-driven innovation. You will play a pivotal part in guiding design teams, shaping strong client relationships, and positioning design as a catalyst for measurable business outcomes. The role demands foresight to create sustainable, tangible solutions that can be tested, validated, and seamlessly embedded into people’s daily lives, ensuring both immediate impact and long-term value. Responsibilities include: Design Leadership & Delivery (leading design workstreams, overseeing multidisciplinary teams, driving large-scale programmes), Strategy & Vision (translating insights, influencing product roadmaps, defining design vision), Stakeholder & Client Engagement (presenting design decisions, shaping client relationships, acting as primary partner to senior executives), Systems & Innovation (applying and evolving design systems, implementing governance models, championing design innovation at scale), and Team Development & Culture (mentoring junior designers, coaching teams, building design capability). Activities involve: User Research & Analysis (conducting research, analysing data, creating personas/journey maps, competitor benchmarking), Interaction Design (defining information architecture, mapping browsing flows, developing wireframes, creating interaction models), Visual Design & Prototyping (designing polished interfaces, applying systematic practices, iterating, building interactive prototypes), Collaboration & Communication (working with Product Owners/Developers, participating in agile ceremonies, presenting concepts, creating case study assets, supporting business development), Testing & Validation (planning and conducting usability testing, collaborating on A/B tests, incorporating insights), and Continuous Improvement (staying updated with trends, advocating user-centred design, contributing to retrospectives).

7+ years in UX, UI, and product design, ideally in consultancy or digital product environments. Experience with designing several mobile apps that have launched in the market. Tertiary qualification in Design, HCI, or a related field. Proven ability to lead teams, scale systematic design practices, and embed efficient workflows. Strong expertise in Figma, prototyping software, and the MS Office suite, with knowledge of AI-assisted design technologies. Comprehensive understanding of branding, marketing, data, social media, business analysis, and development. Strong portfolio demonstrating both craft-level design and systems-level thinking. Excellent facilitation, storytelling, and influencing skills for senior stakeholders. Ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain organisational efficiency.
