Data Architect

The Data Architect will liaise with client and Accenture stakeholders, providing day-to-day oversight of an execution program across application projects within an enterprise architect team. Responsibilities include defining data standards, creating data models, ensuring data consistency, defining detailed entity models for system implementation and operations, collaborating with stakeholders, supporting teams across requirements, solution architecture, integration architecture, and procurement. The role involves understanding mining application stacks, guiding solution architects in architectural documentation, modelling, and design processes, and working with integration architects to design integration solutions.

Minimum 10 years of work experience, with at least 8 years in an architecture advisory or establishment services role. Proven consulting experience or seasoned industry position focused on Enterprise Architecture. Bachelor’s degree or Honours in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Informatics, and/or 10+ years experience in related subject matter areas. Enterprise Architecture certifications like TOGAF 9 or 10, ArchiMate v3.2 experience, and preferable OrbusInfinity experience. Data architecture certifications are advantageous. Deep understanding of mining processes, systems, and tools, Data Lake/Warehouse experience, strong stakeholder engagement and management skills, data architecture and modelling (conceptual, logical, physical), data security, data governance, technical advisory, strong data-driven consulting with a focus on business and technology value. Ability to work in waterfall and agile delivery models, act independently, commercial acumen, experience in Enterprise Architecture advisory/implementation, pro-actively acquired business knowledge, ability to craft and deliver compelling narratives, excellent verbal and written communication skills, deep mining end-to-end expertise across value chain, strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Soft skills include strong problem-solving and systems-thinking capabilities, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, ability to balance technical constraints with business priorities, leadership mindset, highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working in dynamic operational environments.
